How do I get to the event from the airport (Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport)?
The hotel offers a free airport shuttle during the hours of 5:30 AM until 10:00 PM. Please plan if using the hotel airport shuttle as additional guests may cause some delay in loading. Other options are Uber, Lyft and taxi services. Sky Harbor is less than a 10-minute ride from the Mission Palms.
Where is the Registration Desk?
The Registration Desk is in the foyer area of the Palm Ballroom area. Registration packets may be picked up after 1 PM on Monday, August 27 or at any time during the event. The Registration Desk is also the central point of contact for any questions about the conference. If
you have any issues or if the Registration Desk is vacant, feel free to contact Robert Clarillos at 480-263-2260.
How do the lunches and breaks work?
Luncheons at the WRGC are served buffet style and feature a variety of fine prepared entrees, salads, and desserts. You may return during lunch for as much food as you like. Please contact Robert Clarillos or Sheila Deringis at the Registration Desk in the event of lost meal coupons. Breakfast is provided as an assortment of Continental snacks in the Tempe Mission Palms “Snack Shack” cabanas. Snacks are available all day during the conference session days. Seating areas are in the Cloister Room area (next to the inside buffet) and outside near the outside buffet serving area. We will make announcements if there are any changes.
Where is the Conference Business Center?
For all business needs (photocopying, printing from flash drives, shipping, internet access, etc.) the Tempe Mission Palms has a business center located next to the Palm Ballroom Vendor area and adjacent to the Concierge Desk. The Conference Concierge can assist with any shipping services or business center needs. A map of the hotel can be found at this link:
Is there a hotel Valet Service?
The hotel offers a valet service for guests and for conference attendees. Tips are appreciated. There is no charge for valet. Self-parking is limited, and the City of Tempe now charges for parking even adjacent to the hotel.
Where can I park if I do not want to valet?
You may pay for parking around the perimeter of the hotel as there are parking meters. There is also a pay parking lot across the street from the hotel to the south.
Is the Internet Access Free?
Yes. Complimentary wireless Internet service is available in the guest rooms, and will be provided free of charge in the meeting rooms and Vendor Display area. Guests of the hotel may contact the WRGC Registration desk for the password. If you need special internet access, such as a hard line, please contact us.
How does Vendor Set-Up and Breakdown Work?
Vendors are responsible for the set-up and breakdown of their own table top or other displays and for their own payments for shipping into and out of the hotel. Shipments to the hotel should indicate “Western Regional Gas Conference” as well as the name of the vendor. Hotel staff will retrieve vendor exhibit materials from storage. 120-volt power is provided, as well as seating for two at each display area. Vendors are responsible for breaking down their exhibits and arranging for shipment or pickup. Wireless internet service will be provided. If you require wired internet, please contact the hotel as charges for this will be billed to you separately. If the display is large, a drayage company may be required to receive, store, and bring the display into the Vendor Display area and may be subject to limitations or extra charges. If you have a display that is larger than a typical table top display, please contact us to see if there is an extra charge (i.e. two vendor display slots necessary) and the hotel prior to shipping. Vendor fees are for a standard 6 ft. table top display, only.
What is close to the hotel for Dining?
The Mission Grille at the Mission Palms is open during daylight hours and features a buffet or menu options. Harry’s is a cocktail lounge that serves drinks and food until later in the evening. Offsite, there are many restaurants and bars along Mill Avenue and adjacent streets. (See the links at the end of this FAQ document.)
Does the hotel have a Health and Fitness Center?
Yes. The fitness area is on the pool level, adjacent to the pool.
Tuesday Evening Reception and Door Prize Raffle (Get Acquainted Session)
Join us on Tuesday after the last sessions in the Vendor Display Area for a great time! Meet our Vendors at their display booths, have some appetizers and enjoy free beer and wine or visit the cash bars. The raffle will begin at approximately 5 PM. Each year the Vendors and the Western Regional Gas Association provide many excellent door prize gifts for our attendees.
